Ten of Cups

”my grandmother taught me this,
by Surya Cannon

it’s tradition,” she says
her flour-crusted fingertips and shiny dark pretty hair
her darling fawn-lashed eyes, her darling sharp-toothed friends
the midmorning sun through lace-curtains.
i wanted — her hand, that softness. this 1 pure moment.
